About The Position

As the new Controller at Xerxes Global, you will be a key leader within the dynamic finance department. This role involves overseeing all accounting operations and tax workstreams for the company's five businesses. The ideal candidate is an experienced and detail-oriented professional with a passion for team development and process improvement. You will utilize your deep understanding of U.S. GAAP to ensure financial accuracy, manage and mentor a team of four accountants and support staff, and drive efficiency across the department.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Minimum of 6 to 10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
In-depth knowledge of GAAP.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify errors and discrepancies.
Good people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.

Nice To Haves

CPA designation is desirable but not required.
A working knowledge of IFRS is also desirable but not required.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks or others) and Microsoft Excel is a plus.

Responsibilities

Manage all accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll activities, including the monthly close processes.
Manage and mentor a team of accountants and support staff, while providing guidance and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Collaborate closely with the finance team to align budgets, streamline financial processes, and support strategic growth initiatives.
Will lead tax and audit workstream.
Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Oversee bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and other accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Identify inefficiencies in accounting processes and propose solutions for improvement. Implement best practices across our businesses in the U.S. and Europe.
Ensure compliance with US and European accounting principles (GAAP and IFRS) and local regulations. Stay updated on changes to statutory reporting and accounting standards.
