About The Position

As the new Controller at Xerxes Global, you will be a key leader within the dynamic finance department. This role involves overseeing all accounting operations and tax workstreams for the company's five businesses. The ideal candidate is an experienced and detail-oriented professional with a passion for team development and process improvement. You will utilize your deep understanding of U.S. GAAP to ensure financial accuracy, manage and mentor a team of four accountants and support staff, and drive efficiency across the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Minimum of 6 to 10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify errors and discrepancies.
  • Good people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA designation is desirable but not required.
  • A working knowledge of IFRS is also desirable but not required.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks or others) and Microsoft Excel is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll activities, including the monthly close processes.
  • Manage and mentor a team of accountants and support staff, while providing guidance and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Collaborate closely with the finance team to align budgets, streamline financial processes, and support strategic growth initiatives.
  • Will lead tax and audit workstream.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Oversee bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and other accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Identify inefficiencies in accounting processes and propose solutions for improvement. Implement best practices across our businesses in the U.S. and Europe.
  • Ensure compliance with US and European accounting principles (GAAP and IFRS) and local regulations. Stay updated on changes to statutory reporting and accounting standards.
