About The Position
The Controller is responsible for leading accounting operations while supervising HR functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and effective workforce cost management within a construction-focused organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or advanced degree preferred
- 7+ years of accounting or finance experience with exposure to HR or payroll functions
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems, benefits administration, and compliance requirements
- Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting platforms
- Advanced Excel and ERP system experience
- Excellent communication skills with ability to lead and collaborate cross-functionally

- Construction or project-based industry experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Oversee general accounting operations including payroll, accruals, and reconciliations using QuickBooks Online
- Supervise HR processes including payroll administration, benefits oversight, and compliance
- Partner with leadership on compensation and benefits cost analysis for field and project-based employees
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and internal controls
- Develop and maintain financial reporting and forecasting models related to workforce costs
- Support audits related to payroll, benefits, and employee-related expenses
- Analyze workforce metrics to support strategic decision-making
