About The Position

Midwest Press & Automation LLC is a fast paced, rapidly growing company servicing the metal forming industry. The Controller will be responsible for managing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting, and providing strategic financial insights. This role requires a detail-oriented, analytical professional with extensive experience in accounting and financial management. The Controller will oversee the accounting department, develop internal controls, and support the company’s overall financial health.

Requirements

  • Proven working experience as a Controller or in a similar senior financial management role.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience with creating financial statements, general ledger functions, and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Advanced degree in Accounting; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, QuickBooks, ERP software and MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage and mentor a team effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CMA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
  • Develop and implement internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making by senior management.
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance and accurate financial reporting.
