About The Position
An innovative fintech/web3 startup backed by top-tier investors is looking for a hands-on Controller to build and scale the entire finance function from the ground up. This is a high-impact opportunity for someone who thrives in fast-paced startup environments and wants to help shape the future of institutional finance infrastructure.
Requirements
- 6–10 years of accounting/finance experience
- Background in public accounting (Big 4 or mid-tier preferred) + startup/high-growth company experience
- Experience running finance/accounting operations independently
- Strong systems/process builder mindset
- Active user of AI tools in finance workflows
- Must be based in or open to relocating to NYC
Nice To Haves
- CPA preferred
- Interest in crypto/web3/digital assets is a plus
Responsibilities
- Own the full accounting cycle: month-end close, reconciliations, financial statements, reporting
- Build scalable internal controls and finance processes
- Manage treasury, tax, compliance, cash flow forecasting, and equity-related finance operations
- Partner directly with leadership on budgeting, fundraising, financial modeling, and strategic decisions
- Implement and optimize finance systems with AI-driven workflows and automation
