About The Position

The Controller position plays a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of the organization and its subsidiaries. The primary objective is to maintain the financial health of the business by implementing and monitoring effective financial strategies and controls. This role also ensures compliance with legal and ethical financial standards through internal control audits and comprehensive financial management.

Requirements

  • Advanced understanding of business accounting, finance, auditing, and expenditure control systems.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and procedures governing financial operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Excellent customer service and public relations skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial software.
  • Ability to interpret and relay complex policies and procedures.
  • Strong mathematical skills for financial calculations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • CPA certification is preferred but not required.
  • At least five (5) years of professional accounting experience, including work in computer -based systems and supervisory roles.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA and medical background would be ideal but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre -audit assessments of various accounting activities.
  • Coordinate and oversee annual audits; prepare and review work papers and schedules in compliance with GAAP and GASB guidelines.
  • Balance and reconcile accounts and ledgers for all company funds and subsidiaries.
  • Maintain and update the fixed asset inventory system, ensuring accuracy in journal entries and asset management per GAAP standards.
  • Ensure accurate recording of all accounting transactions.
  • Prepare complex financial and statistical statements and reports.
  • Develop and recommend accounting policies to enhance existing practices.
  • Manage journal entries, including preparation, entry, closure, and approval.
  • Assist with revenue and expenditure forecasting, budget development, and preparation of financial records.
  • Oversee the creation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare detailed audit schedules.
  • Manage daily financial transactions and reconciliations for multiple locations.
  • Create and analyze profit and loss statements for each location.
  • Oversee financial balance sheets and cash flow statements.
  • Develop strategies for financial growth and evaluate financial risks.
  • Manage inter -company and bank loan details.
  • Implement and monitor budgets for all entities and locations.
  • Supervise the company’s bookkeeper and ensure efficient financial workflows.
  • Establish and document financial protocols, including:
  • Cash handling procedures
  • End -of -day reconciliations
  • Credit card processing workflows
  • Bank check management
  • Collaboration with the billing team to streamline account balance procedures
