About The Position

Delaware North Sportservice is searching for a Controller to join our team at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia. Within these responsibilities are a variety of accounting functions, including performing financial reporting, consolidating financial results, performing Accounts Payable invoice approvals, and overseeing audit requirements and cash management. You'll collaborate with Truist Park leadership and corporate accounting to continue enhancing processes and transitions of work. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or an Associate degree in business-related curriculum
  • 5+ years of relevant prior accounting experience
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft Financials, or similar accounting software

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant preferred
  • Sportservices and/or hospitality experience a plus
  • Experience in supervising complex accounting teams, an understanding of finance and accounting processes, and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Responsibilities

  • Manage the accounting function at the unit, including direct leadership, supervision, and effective management of the unit accounting and cash room team members
  • Complete audits and ensure the team is knowledgeable of policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Executes strategies and standards related to accounting policy, financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, budgeting, and financial systems and controls
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes, support the annual plan and projection process, provide insightful review of year-over-year changes, and recommend areas of focus to improve operating margins
  • Leads or assists with ad hoc analyses of the finances and prepares reports to facilitate decision-making
