About The Position

This position is responsible for providing accounting support and financial analysis for the Georgia manufacturing facilities.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 4-7 years previous demonstrated experience as Plant Controller and/or Senior Accountant in a manufacturing environment
  • Progressively increasing responsibility in accounting, POC accounting, standard costing, job order reporting, variance analysis, ABC (activity-based costing), inventories, account reconciliations and audit preparation/ assistance / leadership
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer, XL Connect, and Epicor or similar ERP system experience.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA certification and/or master’s degree a plus.

Responsibilities

  • The monthly financial close for the Georgia manufacturing facility including all journal entries, Account Reconciliations, and analysis.
  • Prepare all financial consolidations and reporting for all sites and divisions of Armor Consolidated and its subsidiaries. This will include a monthly executive summary of the prior months financial results and activities for the Georgia site.
  • Prepare the Annual Budget and required forecasts for the Georgia manufacturing facility. Prepare the monthly analysis of variances to the budget and forecast.
  • Oversee the preparation and accurate completion of monthly POC schedules for the Georgia facilities.
  • Revenue Recognition with percentage completion accounting per policy for the Georgia facilities.
  • Successfully supervise, manage, mentor, coach, and develop cost accounting and assistant Controller team members.
  • Take ownership of all Profit and Loss Accounts and reconciliations for OH locations only.
  • Work with Corporate Controller’s office to ensure full Account Reconciliation of Balance sheet accounts.
  • Calculate the overhead rates (Labor and Burden) for each resource within a resource group, utilizing ABC costing for the Georgia manufacturing facility.
  • Annual update of Standard costs
  • Project Leader for the annual physical inventory for all Georgia sites.
  • Responsible for all Georgia Inventory: Lead periodic cycle count process and accuracy reporting for the Georgia facilities, Track inventory aging, Track Min/Max, Identify all inventory issues with solutions via Redline processes for approval
  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute a timely and accurate monthly job profitability report for the Georgia facilities.
  • Provide analysis and otherwise support the Georgia operations leadership team by identifying areas of opportunity for improvement, i.e. reduction of warranty expense, improving margins and improving processes.
  • Monitoring and reporting of Aged Inventory.
  • Support the VP of Accounting’s Office performing duties as assigned including consolidations, financial analysis, annual financial audit, and reporting for monthly and quarterly reviews.
  • Understanding all related Policies and Procedures for this position and initiating Redline improvements for approval.
  • Documenting all accounting processes and procedures as assigned
  • Additional items as assigned by manager.
