Primary Objective: As a key member of the Ground Vehicles (GRV) leadership team, the Controller partners with and reports to the Vice President, General Manager (VPGM) to develop and implement the business unit strategy by evaluating and developing financial analysis, models, & reports. The role is responsible for leading and overseeing all fiduciary responsibilities for the business unit to drive business results. The role ensures proper implementation of the ITW business model as well as continual simplification and cost saving opportunities. Oversees initiatives to maximize cash flow and operating margins, including ongoing improvement in working capital performance against established metrics. Major Areas of Accountability: 1. Financial Planning & Analysis Effectively communicate and coordinate the exchange of financial information (actual results, KPI metrics, forecasting information) to key stakeholders and other departments to help drive business decisions (operations, sales, HR, IT, Legal, R&D, etc) and explain data to management as necessary. Assist with suggesting and providing measurable and accurate financial targets to evaluate the performance of the business. Manager all data and contribute analysis to implement and execute the Front To Back 80/20 process, strategic vision and plan implementation. Develop financial models / justification to support capital investments, leases, customer back innovation (CBI) & other investments in the business. Provide monthly reporting package and financial outlook for the GRV business (and assist with platform related forecasting duties) Serve as primary financial support of customer quotes and contracts to ensure price and margins are aligned to fulfill strategic financial objective and risks associated with the opportunity Communicate as necessary with segment and corporate leadership on financial related matters for the business 2. Business Partnership Partner with VPGM and leadership on all operational and strategic issues as they arise; provide strategic recommendations based on data driven financial analysis and projections Partners with the leadership team to prepare, develop, present and execute Annual Plan (AOP) and Long-Range Plans (LRP) based on in-depth understanding of business and operations Build cross-department credibility, confidence, and collaboration with other functional areas within MTS Work cross functionally with accounting functions to provide accurate and timely financial information in accordance with the Company’s month-end close requirements and explain any key variances to outlook / AOP. 3. People Leadership and Talent Development: Support the development of Finance professionals focused on profitable growth, improving customer satisfaction and simplifying business processes. Ensure ITW Toolbox and 80/20 culture is fully embedded within the team. Identify, lead and develop talent to maximize individual, team and organizational effectiveness in meeting company objectives. This includes selecting and on-boarding talent, communicating effectively to foster a culture of engagement, cascading vision, creating goal alignment, and coaching through feedback, development planning and performance management Use personal influence skills rather than position power to persuade others and gain support Champion the effective use of change management principles, strategies and techniques to plan, implement and evaluate change Builds a strong pipeline of talent to ensure a diverse high performing organization 4.
