Please visit our website to learn more about our organization and its values. www.arboracres.org The Controller – Financial Planning, Systems & Budgeting is a senior finance leader responsible for the organization’s budgeting, financial planning, systems optimization, and financial analytics. This position partners closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and works alongside an existing Controller who is responsible for accounting operations, financial reporting, audits, compliance, and tax filings. This role is forward-looking and collaborative, emphasizing department-level financial partnership, strategic planning, and the effective use of financial and enterprise systems to improve efficiency and decision-making across the organization. Position Type Exempt, full-time leadership position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Five (5)+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, or financial planning.
  • Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and systems implementation.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA preferred.
  • Experience in a not-for-profit, healthcare, or mission-driven organization is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of the annual operating and capital budgets in collaboration with the CFO and department leadership.
  • Present the annual budget to the Board of Directors, with the CFO.
  • Conduct monthly budget-to-actual reviews with department leaders, including staffing and labor metrics.
  • Develop financial projections, scenario analysis, and long-range planning models.
  • Partner with the CFO and IT Administrator to implement, optimize, and champion enterprise systems and tools.
  • Improve financial reporting, system integrations, and automation across platforms (e.g., accounting, HR, payroll, AP).
  • Evaluate and support the selection or replacement of financial and operational software platforms.
  • Assist the CFO with financial modeling and analysis related to strategic initiatives, capital projects, and organizational growth.
