About The Position

As a (Junior) Controller (m/f/d) at 1KOMMA5°, you will work directly with the CFO of Heartbeat AI GmbH, playing a crucial role in the company's financial operations. You will be joining a fast-growing energy tech company during an exciting phase, where the financial foundations you help build will directly influence the business's future scalability. Your responsibilities will include owning the financial heartbeat of the business through monthly closing processes and internal financial reporting, transforming numbers into actionable decisions for the leadership team, and growing into a strategic finance partner by contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. You will utilize your expertise in Excel for building and maintaining financial models and leverage AI tools to enhance efficiency in reporting and forecasting.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in controlling in the context of energy markets - whether cost, revenue, or sales controlling, what matters is that you know how to work with financial data and turn it into structured, reliable reporting.
• Completed a degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field - a Master's degree is not required.
• Highly proficient in Excel and enjoy working in it daily. Clean model structure, well-organized sheets, and solid formula work are second nature to you.
• Excellent language skills in both German and English (C1/C2).
• Detail-oriented and structured, with a strong sense of ownership over the numbers you are responsible for.

Responsibilities

• Own the financial heartbeat of the business: Take responsibility for our monthly closing process (Monatsabschluss) and internal financial reporting (P&L, Cost Center Reports, Forecasts) - ensuring accurate, timely, and structured financial reporting across the company.
• Turn numbers into decisions: Build and maintain financial reports that give our leadership team a clear picture of costs, revenues, and business performance and you are not shy about flagging what the numbers are telling us.
• Grow into a strategic finance partner: Beyond the numbers, you will increasingly contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning working closely with the CFO to strengthen our financial infrastructure as the company scales.
• Make Excel your instrument: Work with structured, well-designed spreadsheet models every day building, improving, and maintaining them to a high standard.
• Apply AI to make your life easier: Learn directly from an AI driven tech environment and dive into a variety of AI tools (i.e. Claude) to boost your and your teams efficiency in reportings and forecasting purposes.
