Controller/CFO

Powercast Corp.Fox Chapel, PA

About The Position

Powercast Corporation, a pioneer in RF-based wireless power technology, is seeking a hands-on finance leader to build and own our finance function as the company scales. We’re open to candidates at different career stages: a strong Controller who is ready to grow into a Chief Financial Officer role over time, or someone who has already served as CFO of a small company and is looking to step directly into that scope of responsibility here. We need someone who can operate at every level of the finance function — from day-to-day bookkeeping to leading month-end and year-end close, coordinating the audit, and ultimately providing strategic financial leadership. Depending on your background, you may start as a true “player-coach,” doing the detailed work yourself while building the systems and processes the company will need as it grows, or you may already be equipped to take on that broader leadership role from day one.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Controller, Senior Accountant, or similar progressive accounting role
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks required
  • Familiarity with ADP or comparable payroll systems
  • Demonstrated experience managing external audit relationships
  • GAAP proficient
  • Excellent organizational skills and comfort working in a small-company environment where you’ll wear multiple hats

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DataRails (or similar FP&A/reporting tools) strongly preferred
  • CPA or CPA track preferred
  • Public accounting experience is a plus
  • Prior experience as CFO of a small company is a plus, but not required — we’re equally interested in Controllers ready to grow into that role

Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle bookkeeping and general ledger accuracy
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare financial statements and management reporting packages
  • Coordinate directly with external auditors and manage the annual audit
  • Manage payroll processing and compliance (ADP or similar)
  • Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting policies
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Partner with leadership on financial planning as the role expands toward CFO responsibilities
  • Evaluate and optimize financial systems and reporting tools over time

Benefits

  • Chance to shape the finance function from the ground up
