Equitable is looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our organization as the Controls Testing Director in the Financial Controls Office (FCO). In this role you will be responsible for the planning, execution, and reporting of Management’s Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) Testing program to ensure its effectiveness, efficiency, and alignment with industry best practices and regulatory standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams across key IT and Business areas and drive organizational change to achieve a streamlined and sustainable control environment. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • 8+ years related audit or controls experience, with public accounting or internal audit experience preferred
  • Experience leading ICFR audit engagements including business process controls, ITDCs, and ITGCs and CUECs
  • Knowledge of IIA auditing standards, SEC financial reporting and US GAAP requirements, PCAOB (AS5) requirements, and SOX/MAR requirements

Responsibilities

  • Drive Management’s ICFR Testing strategy across the Company’s key business and IT processes
  • Lead the planning and execution of Management testing program activities including SOX and MAR scoping, end-to-end process and control walkthroughs, documentation management, and issue escalation
  • Partner closely with external auditors to facilitate their 70%25 reliance on Management’s testing
  • Lead the identification and implementation of process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of internal control testing
  • Manage and communicate program status to Senior Management and external auditors
  • Lead by example to drive a team culture of engaging, inspired, and empowered individuals who add value across the organization
  • Manage a team of approximately 2 on-shore employees and 10 off-shore employees
