About The Position

Noblis MSD is seeking a Control Systems Engineer for a long-term, multi-year contract to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC). This position is located onsite at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. The role involves developing, designing, and managing complex machinery control system modernization efforts for US Navy and US Coast Guard Ships. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial controls and systems engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
  • 3+ years engineering experience.
  • Experience using National Instrument products (developing/integrating National Instrument software with hardware interfacing equipment).
  • Rockwell ControlLogix PLC programming using Ladder Logic and Structured Control Language (SCL).
  • Proficiency in the use of test and diagnostic tools associated with industrial control systems.
  • Expertise and demonstrated experience with industrial communications protocols such as EthernetIP, and Serial communication protocols.
  • Active DOD secret security clearance or the ability to obtain clearance.
  • US Citizen.
  • CompTIA Security + certification (or must obtain within three months of hire).

Nice To Haves

  • Strong proficiency with the following programming languages: Visual Basic, Relay Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Structured Control Language (SCL).
  • Siemens SIMATIC Step 7 and TIA Portal.
  • Structured Control Language and Ladder Logic a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform design, development, modeling/simulation, and integration for Naval shipboard control systems applications in a lab environment.
  • Conduct PLC engineering development utilizing National Instruments, Rockwell Studio 5000 and Siemens SIMATIC Step 7 / TIA Portal.
  • Develop equipment integration designs for networking, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems), simulators/simulators and other test tools/systems.
  • Implement cybersecurity best practices and hardening for industrial control systems.
  • Develop and deploy industrial application/system user interfaces, database interfaces, device interfaces and related analytics.
  • Support shipboard implementation of industrial control systems with specific applications for machinery controls and validation efforts.
  • Develop technical documentation packages.
