About The Position

A Gas Engine System Engineer develops, integrates, and supports gas engine subsystems under the guidance of a System Lead. They are responsible for translating system-level requirements into detailed technical solutions, executing analysis, development, and validation work to ensure the subsystem performs as intended within the overall engine system.

Requirements

  • Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Embedded Systems: Knowledge of embedded systems and their applications; ability to develop embedded systems with varying levels of complexity to control the operations of the machine it is embedded within.
  • Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and validate subsystem functionality (software, controls, sensors/actuators, or hardware interfaces) in alignment with system requirements and architecture.
  • Execute assigned CRMs, feature development, calibrations, tests, and investigations, owning technical deliverables end to end for their scope.
  • Support system integration and issue resolution by diagnosing problems in test cells, simulations, or the field and proposing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate closely with software developers, controls engineers, hardware teams, validation, and applications to ensure robust implementation.
  • Document designs, test results, and decisions to support releases, audits, and product lifecycle needs.
  • Contribute technical input to trade studies, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
