We’re currently looking for a Control Systems Engineer / Technician to join our growing SCADA group in our Pittsburgh, PA office. This role is well-suited for someone with networking/computer skills and hands-on electrical/electronics experience. If you enjoy working with PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems, and want to make an impact on critical infrastructure projects, you’ll fit right in.

Requirements

  • Hold an Electro-Mechanical degree or have relevant experience in control system integration.
  • 1–3 years of related experience (training may be provided for driven entry-level candidates).
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and control panel equipment and design.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting low-voltage electrical systems using tools like multimeters.
  • Skilled in PLC programming (Rockwell/Allen Bradley preferred; Modicon, ScadaPack, etc. helpful).
  • Familiar with HMI programming (FactoryTalk preferred; Wonderware, iFix, WinCC, etc. a plus).
  • Problem-solving skills, strong deductive reasoning, and the ability to reverse engineer panels in the field.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and committed to delivering high-quality work.

Nice To Haves

  • Process knowledge with fluid flow or hydraulics is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, program, test, and commission SCADA systems, PLCs, and HMIs.
  • Configure and manage SCADA networks, including firewalls, modems, managed switches, VLANs, VPN, and related equipment.
  • Perform field installations, startups, and training for automation projects.
  • Troubleshoot and service PLCs, HMIs, and related control systems for a wide range of clients.
  • Develop control system upgrades and retrofits, primarily with Allen Bradley/Rockwell platforms.
  • Collaborate with drafting, electrical design, and engineering peers to deliver successful projects.
  • Travel to client sites, in western Pennsylvania, with most work local to the Pittsburgh area.
