Control Systems Engineer II - Building Automation
About The Position
GrayMatter is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join their Building Automation Services team. This position focuses on managing specialized work efficiently, with confidence and competence. The role requires above-average attention to detail, concern for the exact correctness of work, and a strong commitment to completing tasks on time. The ideal candidate will take work seriously, possess a strong sense of duty, and be disciplined. The position is generally task-oriented, requiring a conservative, careful, and cautious approach to work. The role involves performing GrayMatter services to meet client needs, with a specific focus on Control Systems common in data center, power generation, and advanced manufacturing industries. It also includes designing, developing, and implementing solutions to achieve project goals, leading integration and coordination between mechanical, electrical, and controls systems, leading the development and execution of commissioning procedures, and consulting with and training end users on new applications. Assisting in project development and planning is also part of the responsibilities. The position is local but may require up to 50% travel throughout a calendar year.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field (EE, EET, ME, MET or comparable). An equivalent combination of experience and training may also be considered.
- 4+ years of relevant working experience with: PLC Programming: Schneider Modicon, Allen-Bradley, CompactLogix, ControlLogix, Schneider Electric, and Siemens
- SCADA Systems: Ignition
- Control Systems implementation, design, installs, and troubleshooting
- Experience with industrial application programming languages
- Experience with Electrical Schematics, Power Distribution, Water/Cooling systems.
- Acute attention to detail and process
- Strong ability to solve problems and research solutions

Responsibilities
- Performing GrayMatter services to meet client needs, with a specific focus on Control Systems common in data center, power generation, and advanced manufacturing industries.
- Designing, developing and implementing solutions to achieve project goals.
- Lead integration and coordination between mechanical, electrical, and controls systems to ensure seamless operation across platforms.
- Lead development and execution of commissioning procedures, test scripts, and documentation validation.
- Consulting with and training end users on new applications.
- Assisting in project development and planning.
