The Control System Owner is responsible for end‑to‑end development of vehicle control systems, including requirements definition, risk assessments, supplier alignment, and verification activities. In this role, you will deliver high‑quality control systems in PACCAR’s vehicles, while meeting program budgets, schedules, and customer expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, manage multiple simultaneous projects, and respond dynamically to shifting priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, including internationally.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in design, release, or integration of automotive or commercial vehicle systems.
  • Hands‑on experience solving complex engineering problems using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Automotive SPICE process.
  • Experience working within agile development frameworks.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing detailed supplier technical deliverables.
  • Advanced degree or Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Responsibilities

  • Design, integrate, and release electronic components and control systems for medium‑ and heavy‑duty vehicles.
  • Manage the quality, cost, timing, and performance (QCTP) of ECUs and base software sourced from suppliers.
  • Lead supplier management activities, ensuring high‑quality technical deliverables and adherence to development processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional partners including software engineering, electrical engineering, supplier quality, purchasing, IT, and test teams.
  • Support launch activities at truck assembly plants and troubleshoot field issues as needed.
  • Ensure industry‑leading quality and reliability within area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, mentoring, collaboration, and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Identify and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives focused on quality enhancement and process efficiency.
