About The Position

Master Motion Control for the Toughest Terrain: Lead the Next Generation of Heavy Equipment Control as a Control System Engineer! Shape the future of autonomous and intelligent heavy machinery by developing advanced automatic motion control algorithms for high-impact equipment like tractors, excavators, and dozers. You will design, optimize, and integrate core control systems using cutting-edge model-based techniques to transform how essential global industries operate on the ground. About AgIS Trimble AgIS provides GNSS and Control System-based hardware and software technologies for implementing customer solutions, including those for the PTx Trimble JV with Agco. PTx Trimble (f.k.a. Trimble Agriculture) Trimble Civil Construction What Makes This Role Great: In this role, you will be at the forefront of off-highway automation, turning complex control law theory into real-world performance on heavy machinery. You will directly influence the intelligence, precision, and safety of next-generation equipment while collaborating with top-tier engineering teams on dynamic, multi-disciplinary projects.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing control algorithms for dynamic systems.
  • Proven track record with automatic control systems applied to off-highway machinery.
  • Strong proficiency in model-based design using MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Demonstrated experience testing, validating, verifying, and productizing core algorithms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, GNC, or a related engineering field.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, GNC, or related fields.
  • Expertise in state estimation using Kalman filters, GNSS+IMU integration, or autonomous vehicle control.
  • Proficiency with C/C++ software development, Simulink auto-code generation, and ROS ecosystems.
  • Experience with safety-critical software certification, HIL/SIL testing, or Systems Identification (Simscape).

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the design, development, and productization of advanced control law algorithms for dynamic heavy machinery.
  • Utilize MATLAB and Simulink to craft sophisticated model-based designs, signal conditioning, and feedback loop compensations.
