Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar control room operation role is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a fixed plant environment, preferably in a mining environment.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and control systems is essential.
  • Knowledge of plant operations, circuit flow and equipment.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must be able to work 12-hour day and night shifts; on a 7x7 rotation.
  • High level of safety awareness, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols.
  • Proficient in English, with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Physically capable of performing labour-intensive tasks as needed.
  • Proficient in maintaining and reporting detailed records with high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite for effective data management and reporting.
  • Proven attendance record, demonstrating dependability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues across various departments.
  • Capable of performing duties with minimal supervision and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment, embracing challenges and changes.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously oversee plant operations from the control room to ensure all equipment and systems function properly.
  • Proactively identify and address operational issues and abnormalities to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.
  • Read and interpret manuals and regulatory requirements, adhering strictly to workplace policies and health and safety procedures.
  • Keep track of equipment performance to ensure metallurgical efficiency and operational excellence.
  • Adhere to workplace policies and health and safety procedures.
  • Identify and report health and safety risks, incidents, and injuries.
  • Monitor equipment performance and ensure metallurgical efficiency.
  • Document and report shift activities, operational issues, and performance indicators.
  • Other duties as assigned.
