About The Position

Brookfield Renewable N.A. is seeking a Control Room Operator for its National System Control Center in Queensbury, NY. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and safe performance of a diverse fleet of renewable energy assets, including hydroelectric, wind, solar, battery energy storage, and transmission. The operator will be responsible for monitoring and controlling these systems in real-time, making critical decisions to maintain safety and operational limits, and responding to changing grid conditions and weather events. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in high-stakes environments, are technically adept, and are passionate about technology and sustainability.

Requirements

Calm under pressure and confident making decisions in fast-paced environments.
Technically savvy, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable with computers and control systems (bonus if you’ve used SCADA or similar platforms).
Great communicators and team players.
Able to work night shifts, weekends, and some holidays.
Willing to travel to remote sites if needed.

Nice To Haves

Hands-on experience in electrical systems, control rooms, or industrial operations.
Familiarity with hydro or steam turbine systems is a plus.
Gaming, simulation, or military control system experience can be highly relevant.
Associates degree or above in relevant field.
Practical experience, technical aptitude, and a mindset geared toward safety and precision.
