Control Room Operator I
About The Position
The Control Room Operator will monitor production facilities and well site locations through the SCADA system. This role involves remotely monitoring and controlling pumps and control valves for water takeaway through pipelines and water handling facilities. The operator will also monitor, test, and verify alarms for the pipeline leak detection program, manage flaring to alert appropriate field personnel to decrease greenhouse gases, and handle incoming alarms by contacting the correct field personnel. Additionally, the operator will address all incoming phone calls, including safety and one-call inquiries, complete required reports for management, and collaborate with the SCADA team to set up or improve processes. This position requires interaction and idea sharing with all groups and teams, adherence to company SOPs, safety policies, and procedures, and maintaining knowledge of field operations across the division. Additional duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must maintain very strong computer skills
- Time management - Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks at one time
- Must possess excellent communication, planning, and organization skills
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts rotating day and night
- Ability to travel, while working in multiple basins, as needed
- Capable of making quick decisions under pressure
- Must work well in a team environment
Nice To Haves
- Oil and Gas Production experience preferred
Responsibilities
