About The Position

Meyer Utility Structures is hiring a Control Process Operator for its plant operation in Fort Worth, Texas. The operator sets up and operates machines, may use blueprints, adjusts equipment for materials, verifies dimensional requirements, and transfers materials to storage areas. The role operates a weekend schedule of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 4:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Employees work 36 hours and are paid for 40 hours. Meyer Utility Structures designs and fabricates concrete and tubular steel structures for transmission, distribution, and substation applications. Requirements

At least 1 year of experience operating a 20-foot or larger brake press, plasma table, or drill press; preferably involving bending and/or cutting steel up to 2 inches thick.
Working knowledge of or experience with angle grinders and metal manufacturing/fabrication.
Experience operating overhead cranes.
Experience operating large forklifts.
Ability to proficiently read blueprints and verify dimensional requirements.
Ability to maintain reliable and predictable attendance.
Ability to stand throughout the day, climb on and off equipment, and regularly lift materials weighing more than 50 pounds.
Dependability, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well with a team toward a common goal.

Responsibilities

Operate one or more of the following: 20-foot, 26-foot, or 60-foot brake presses; a plasma table; or a Kinetic drill press.
Form and/or cut materials into predesignated shapes and sizes.
Operate overhead cranes to move materials safely.
Troubleshoot equipment and make basic adjustments.
Make general decisions regarding quality, tolerances, and operation sequence.
Follow all safety rules and practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
