About The Position

MSHS Pacific Power Group is seeking a skilled Control Panel Technician to join our team in Mandeville, Louisiana. In this hands-on role, you'll assemble and test custom control panels, support generator and automation systems, and collaborate with Engineering, Field Service, Operations, and Quality teams to deliver reliable, high-quality electrical solutions for our customers. You will work on systems that support critical power generation and industrial applications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of control panel assembly and wiring experience (panel experience required)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and control panel components
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, electrical testing equipment, soldering and troubleshooting techniques
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime on short notice when business needs require
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a shop environment

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or trade school education in electrical technology or industrial controls
  • Experience in power generation, industrial manufacturing, or MRO environments
  • UL 508A or UL 891 certification a plus
  • Familiarity with PLCs, HMI systems, relays, and industrial automation controls
  • Knowledge of NEC, UL, and NFPA electrical standards
  • Experience supporting generator controls, switchgear, or ATS systems
  • Previous field service, commissioning, or startup experience
  • Own personal hand tools a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and wire electrical control panels, enclosures, and control systems from electrical schematics and engineering drawings
  • Install and wire components including PLCs, relays, HMIs, transformers, circuit breakers, switches, and other control devices
  • Route, terminate, and label wiring according to industry standards and best practices
  • Perform functional testing, validation, and quality inspections before shipment
  • Inventory management of equipment
  • Troubleshoot electrical wiring issues, failed components, and control system malfunctions
  • Repair and refurbish returned control panels and electrical assemblies
  • Support field installation, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting as needed
  • Assist with generator control systems, switchgear, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and industrial automation projects
  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and testing documentation
  • Follow all company safety policies and applicable electrical codes including NEC, UL, and NFPA standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and recommend process enhancements
