About The Position

The Neil Jones Food Company is seeking a seasonal Control Room Operator I to operate and maintain machinery, document production data, and ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Safety and Health Hazard Analysis, and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations at their TomaTek plant in Firebaugh, CA. This is a seasonal role supporting the fresh pack season, typically from June to October.

Requirements

  • 1 – 2 years of related experience and/or training in Evaporation or similar equipment or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Knowledge in the operation of all control room systems: hot breaks, Fencos, evaporators, and flash coolers.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the control room lead in the day-to-day operations and understands the process flow of the specified machinery being operated; Hot breaks, Fencos, Evaporators and the Flash cooler.
  • Ensures that the product being produced by Evaporators and the Flash Cooler meet the specifications according to the Manufacture Standard Practices (MSP).
  • Ensures that proper levels and temperatures are recorded and remain within limits.
  • Maintains all written production log sheets that are relevant to the respected area.
  • Checks pump seals and cooling water as required, to ensure compliance of eliminating unnecessary waste.
