This role participates in the development and fulfillment of contract requirements in the purchase or sale/delivery of equipment, materials, products or services. It evaluates contract compliance and advises others on contractual rights and obligations. The role also requests or approves amendments to contract terms or contract extensions. It prepares bids or requests for proposals (RFPs), including specifications and requirements, negotiates contract terms and participates in the determination of acceptable bids. The impact of the role requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in its job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines. It solves complex problems and works independently, receiving minimal guidance. It may lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives. It acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience and involves the consistent exercise of discretion & judgment.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, examines, negotiates and revises contracts.
  • Ensures contracts are consistent with management's goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Handles the acquisition, distribution, and store of purchases.
  • Assures that all clarifications and amendments of negotiations are incorporated into the final contract.
  • Generates, maintains, and audits a central contract-resource file.
  • Ensures that necessary procedural controls exist.
