Other key responsibilities of the Contracts Manager will include: Supporting contracting for R&D collaborations, by partnering closely with Veracyte's R&D department and other stakeholders Working with business partners to understand what drives each collaboration, identify contractual risks, and propose risk-mitigation solutions Assist in developing templates and playbooks; provide insights to improve Veracyte's contract management system (currently Ironclad) Supporting intellectual property management for the IP Counsel; overflow support for Contracts Counsel The Contracts Manager will report to the IP Counsel.

Requirements

  • Paralegal or Attorney: Paralegal: A bachelor's degree or equivalent, with at least 7 years of relevant experience. Attorney: JD (or equivalent) with active bar membership, with at least 5 years of legal experience; law firm training in technology transactions practice is preferred.
  • Experience (required) in life sciences technology transactions—e.g., diagnostic, medical device, CRO, biotech, or pharma
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and take business/client-focused approach to difficult decisions—to advance practical solutions
  • Exceptional drafting skills with an affinity for using language to achieve compromise
  • Passion for supporting patient care and ability to engage team members to achieve objectives
  • Strong prioritization and time-management skills needed for a fast-paced environment
  • You have initiative, enthusiasm, and resourcefulness
  • You are a team player with a passion for collaboration and patient care
  • Rather than saying “no,” you work with your business partners in a collaborative way to find solutions where solutions can be found
