About The Position

The Contracts Manager is responsible for overseeing the complete lifecycle of government and organizational contracts, from proposal development to closeout. This role ensures strict compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and other requirements while proactively identifying and mitigating risks.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of FAR, DFARS and other relevant government contracting regulations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • Five or more years of experience as a Contracts Manager in a federal contracting environment
  • Demonstrated experience working with contract management software
  • Must be U.S. citizen
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check
  • Must be able to obtain government clearance

  • Industry credential, such as Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM), Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all stages of the contract lifecycle, from proposal submission and negotiation through contract modifications and closeout.
  • Read, interpret and evaluate contract terms and conditions, assess risks to the company and communicate findings to senior management and sales team.
  • Execute non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), terms and conditions and contract modification requests.
  • Settle disputes regarding contract interpretation, conditions or compliance with legal requirements.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions, monitor contract performance, handle documentation and mitigate risk.
  • Ensure strict adherence to FAR, DFARS and other agency-specific rules.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate contractual and legal risks by collaborating with internal stakeholders.
  • Respond to requests for information from government officials, including contract audits, CPARS, protests, etc.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and administer subcontractor and teaming agreements, including flow-down of applicable FAR, DFARS, and prime contract requirements.
  • Ensure subcontractor agreements are properly executed, compliant, and aligned with prime contract obligations, including monitoring subcontractor performance and compliance.
  • Coordinate with Government contracting officers and internal stakeholders to support novation and name-change agreements, including preparation, submission, and tracking of required documentation.
  • Support contract transitions resulting from mergers, acquisitions, or corporate restructuring by managing novations, assignments, and related contractual actions.
  • Advise on proposal strategies, review terms and conditions and conduct negotiations to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Manage all contract vehicles such as GSA and other IDIQ’s.
  • Act as a liaison with government contracting officers, teaming partners, vendors and internal teams, providing guidance on contractual requirements.
  • Manage contract performance, ensure deliverables are met and maintain accurate contract records.
  • Maintain all contract records and prepare reports on contract performance and compliance for senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Recommend and implement strategies to improve contract management processes and efficiency.
  • Assess current procedures and develop new policies and processes related to contracts.
  • Stay current on new laws and proposed legislation and interpret the potential impact on current and future contracts.
  • Facilitate contract kick-off meetings.
  • Attend and present in meetings as required.
  • Assist in proposals and bids as needed.
  • Perform other duties as appropriate and as assigned.
