Contracts and Claims Specialist

Luster National•Los Angeles, CA

About The Position

Luster is building a talent pool of Contracts and Claims Specialists at various skill levels for future roles supporting large, complex heavy-civil infrastructure programs. Projects may include highways, roads, bridges, bus and rail transit, international airports, and water/wastewater, delivered through traditional and alternative methods. This is a future-opportunities posting rather than an opening for a specific current project; selected candidates may be activated in the talent pool and notified first when a project need arises. These roles focus on construction contract claims and disputes, not insurance adjusting. Specialists evaluate claims and requests for equitable adjustment for entitlement and quantum, compare claimed cost and time against contract terms and contemporaneous records, and develop positions for negotiation, dispute review boards, and subsequent proceedings. Contract administration is included, with an emphasis on resolving disagreements between parties. Scope and complexity vary with experience level. The expected salary range is $90,000–$155,000 per year ($43–$75 per hour), depending on factors including experience, skills, education, certifications, licenses, and geographic location. Luster describes the range as an estimate of what it may offer and reserves the right to pay more or less based on circumstances not related to protected status. Luster states its commitment to an inclusive work environment and diverse workforce. Qualified applicants receive consideration without regard to the protected characteristics listed in the posting. Positions may be subject to a background check and drug test following a conditional offer, as permitted by applicable law.
