About The Position

The Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) will be responsible for developing, administering, and auditing security programs to ensure compliance with government regulations for the protection of classified material and export-controlled data. This role also involves developing and executing security programs for proprietary information, supporting Special Access Programs (SAPs), and working closely with U.S. Government customers on contract execution approvals and security rulings. The CSSO will manage quality, schedule, and cost expectations while upholding fundamental security requirements, prepare implementation manuals, conduct security education, investigate violations, and apply risk-managed solutions to security challenges. Additionally, the role includes processing clearances, customer visits, and supporting classified meetings.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret clearance required with BI or CV within 5 years, with ability to obtain SCI access and Polygraph.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Understanding of government security regulations and implementation (DoDM 5205.07, ICD 705, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous program security experience.
  • Technical understanding of various government databases and DISS.
  • The ability to articulate and present intelligent, decisive and risk-managed security recommendations and decisions on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, administers and audits security programs for compliance with government regulations associated with the protection of classified material and export controlled data.
  • Develops and executes security programs associated with the protection of proprietary information in compliance with corporate policies.
  • Performs in individual and team roles supporting all contractual security requirements for Special Access programs (SAPs).
  • Serves as a Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO).
  • Studies and implements federal security regulations that apply to company compliance and contract execution as set forth in SAP security rules (DoDM 5205.07).
  • Works closely with U. S. Government customers to seek contract execution approvals and seeks security rulings or deviations.
  • Provides support in managing the quality, schedule and cost expectations associated with program development and execution, while maintaining the fundamental security requirements defined by the customer/company and program.
  • Prepares implementation manuals outlining regulations, and establishes procedures for handling, storing, keeping records, and for granting personnel and visitors access to classified materials.
  • Develops and conducts security education classes.
  • Investigates security violations and prepares reports specifying preventive action to be taken.
  • Applies business-minded and risk-managed solutions to security issues and business challenges, and communicates observations and recommendations to leadership and enterprise business partners.
  • Processes clearances and customer visits and provides support for classified meetings.
