About The Position

Contractor Sales Representatives are important members of the Star Nursery team. They provide outstanding customer services and sales assistance to business-to-business customers – our contractors. They maintain a safe workplace and efficient and productive work flow. Follow operations standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time service. Follow policies in the areas of operations techniques, materials usage, shipping and receiving, capacity planning, scheduling, safety, customer satisfaction. Provide leadership for problem-resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships. Walk the nursery to understand and plan for plant availability. Complete plant orders from commercial customers and assist with retail customers during high traffic flow to our stores. Placing special orders & upsell. Set up Deliveries & Route Trucks. Routing trucks. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Effective and relevant work experience in a garden center industry or equivalent
• Frequently bending, twisting and rotating trunk, arms and legs
• Standing 100% of the time/walking 99% of the time/climbing 10% of the time
• Working with arms extended and bent constantly
• Frequently moving parts and stock weighing up to 35 pounds, 10 to 50 feet
• Occasionally moving parts and stock weighing up to 50 pounds; pushing and pulling occasionally
• Frequently moving merchandise weighing 10 to 25 pounds from floor to counter
• Occasionally moving and stocking overhead shelves with parts weighing 5 to 15 pounds
• Constant gross hand and finger dexterity; frequently grasping and manipulating
• Constant hand and eye coordination
