About The Position

Champion Home Builders, Inc. is seeking to hire a Contractor to join their team in the Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, and South Dakota region. This Independent Contractor role involves executing warranty work on sold homes per service work orders, acting as a key element in a successful customer service experience. The primary responsibility is to repair common service issues associated with new manufactured homes, requiring diverse handyman skills to ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Ability to troubleshoot, reason, and solve problems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to understand and execute instructions.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Understanding and compliance with work safety policies and procedures.
  • Must provide a valid driver's license.
  • Must hold a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Six months to one-year related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Carpentry skills in the following areas: Trim work, Roofing, Window replacement, Door realignment, Drywall repairs, Siding, Flooring.

  • Proficient home repair skills.
  • Repair/replace toilets, water heaters, light fixtures, door/cabinet hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Execute warranty work on sold homes per the service work order.
  • Manage work schedule by making appointments with customers.
  • Pick up parts from the factory as needed and verify parts with orders.
  • Install new parts or repair issues per the work order.
  • Maintain a logbook as per Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Maintain the company vehicle, ensuring it is clean, stocked, and serviced regularly.
  • Complete work orders and return them to the factory by mail or personal delivery.
  • Perform carpentry tasks including trim work, roofing, window replacement, door realignment, drywall repairs, siding, and flooring.
  • Perform plumbing and electrical repairs.
  • Conduct proficient home repairs, including repairing/replacing toilets, water heaters, light fixtures, and door/cabinet hardware.
  • Maintain company tools and materials, and inform management of any issues.
  • Represent Champion Home Builders with a friendly attitude and professional appearance.
  • Demonstrate strong customer relation skills.
