About The Position

If you are passionate about promoting quality, ensuring compliance, and protecting the health and safety of the individuals we serve, COMHAR invites you to join our team as a Contractor Certified Investigator. In this role, you will conduct objective, thorough investigations in accordance with Pennsylvania Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) standards, helping ensure accountability, regulatory compliance, and the highest quality of care across our programs. Contract |Available to work in the Philadelphia, PA and Montgomery County Areas Rate: $30.00/HR-$35.00/HR Contractor Certified Investigator is responsible for conducting investigations involving reportable incidents within COMHAR's Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and Behavioral Health programs. The Certified Investigator independently manages investigations from initiation through completion, ensuring all investigations are conducted objectively, completed within required timelines, and meet Pennsylvania Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) Certified Investigator standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human services preferred, including, but not limited to sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling, psychology or 6 to 10 years’ experience in either Behavioral Health or IDD Programs.
  • Valid Certified Investigator Status upon hire through the Office of Developmental Services.
  • Must be familiar with ODP’s Incident Management Bulletin, Incident Investigation Manual, Peer Review Manuel, and Administrative Review.
  • Familiarity with EIM systems or must have the initiative to learn systems toward comfortable navigation.
  • Experience working in social services, mental or behavioral health field.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with ODP regulation is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct investigations in accordance with ODP Certified Investigator standards for the IDD and Behavioral Health Divisions.
  • Independently manage investigation timelines while completing comprehensive, accurate, and timely investigative reports.
  • Present investigation findings to the Administrative Review Committee.
  • Maintain investigation tracking logs, enter investigations into the Enterprise Incident Management (EIM) system, and ensure proper storage of all investigative records.
  • Participate in investigation peer reviews, Administrative Review Committee meetings, and Quality Improvement department meetings as needed.
  • Maintain objectivity, professionalism, and confidentiality throughout the investigative process.
  • Ensure compliance with all COMHAR policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
