About The Position

Keystone is hiring a contract writer to work alongside consultants and partners in the antitrust practice. The role involves building public profiles and producing practice-defining content by transforming expert thinking into sharp, publishable prose across various formats. The volume of writing work is steady and growing, requiring a dedicated full-time individual to lead drafting and ensure projects meet their publishing schedule. This position is suitable for recent graduates aiming for a career in economics, technology, and legal writing, or experienced writers seeking a change from traditional environments.

Requirements

  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clean, structured, engaging prose on a tight turnaround.
  • Ability to learn quickly and grasp key details on technical topics such as economics, technology, competition, regulation, and litigation.
  • Capacity to translate technical information for a non-technical audience.
  • Adaptability to write convincingly under someone else's byline and adjust writing style for different formats (e.g., LinkedIn posts vs. formal articles).
  • Reliability in tracking own work, managing multiple tasks, and communicating effectively with busy contributors.
  • Curiosity to ask probing questions and identify key insights.

Nice To Haves

  • Journalism, editorial, communications, or agency experience.
  • Familiarity with consulting, professional services, law, finance, or public policy.
  • Demonstrated interest in the domains covered by the antitrust practice.

Responsibilities

  • Ghostwrite thought leadership under consultants' and partners' bylines, including LinkedIn posts, opinion pieces, long-form articles, and short commentary on news and regulatory developments.
  • Partner directly with practitioners to translate their expertise into a distinct voice.
  • Produce practice materials such as point-of-view pieces, conference talks, panel remarks, and syntheses of cutting-edge research.
  • Interview experts, digest technical source material, and collaborate with partners to communicate research to a broader audience.
  • Manage a pipeline of concurrent pieces across multiple practitioners, ensuring progress towards deadlines.
  • Develop connections to facilitate content progression from idea to publication.
