About The Position

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Business Support Systems (BSS) team at Guy Carpenter. This role can be based in New York or Seattle. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
The Contract Technician will provide clerical support, under limited supervision, to a team of senior BSS individuals who are responsible for drafting client contracts and supporting brokers in placement of reinsurance, or junior brokers.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree or transferrable experience
• Strong interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining good internal relationships and interactions with colleagues and peers
• Strong ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, etc. Strong organizational skills and the ability to pay attention to detail, multi-task and keep track of long-term projects or matters
• Proficient in MS Office and well-versed with office equipment (e.g., copiers, conference room equipment, binding machine, etc.)

Nice To Haves

• 3-5 years in a corporate environment strongly preferred; related experience in compliance and/or client written communication a plus

Responsibilities

• Send reinsurance contracts to parties for signature as instructed by contract drafters and in accordance with procedures.
• Call and/or email contract document recipients following up for signature. Review and action signatures received in a group mailbox. Identify inconsistencies in signatures received and raise to contract drafter for assessment and direction.
• Track and update contract send and signing status in the system, coordinating with contract drafter for status when escalated per procedures.
• Scan/upload and name all contract documents as received from reinsurers, clients and/or contract drafter and transmit completed signatures. Draft basic business communications as requested ensuring all documents produced adhere to MMC’s style guidelines
