About The Position

As a Contract Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and negotiating agreements with contracting agencies, payors, and other healthcare partners. You will consult frequently with operations and other departments during the contract preparation process, and gather and analyze information and data from branch personnel, regulatory departments, contracting agencies, and other sources to support projects. You will provide input to field management to assess operational and financial feasibility of agreements, and develop original contracts, letters, and other documents to support business objectives. Ensuring accurate and timely entry of information into the department database and compliance with policies and procedures is crucial. You will interact with internal customers and other departments (Risk Management, Clinical Services, Law, Regulatory) with a high level of professionalism and responsiveness. Participation in special projects and other duties as assigned is also expected.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience drafting and negotiating contracts in a healthcare setting
  • Experience with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts
  • Excellent critical thinking and communication skills
  • Ability to work cohesively with a team, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with payor contracts and credentialing processes
  • Knowledge of current and legally binding contractual language and terminology
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and propose solutions for problems
  • Knowledge of negotiation best practices
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Nice To Haves

  • Paralegal certificate
  • Prior experience in healthcare contract management
