About The Position

Great Hill Solutions, LLC is seeking a Contract Special Security Officer (CSSO) to support the National Cyber Range Complex (NCRC). The CSSO will manage and execute day-to-day Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security support and serve as a primary contractor point of contact for SCI security matters. The position is responsible for supporting personnel, information, administrative, industrial, and physical security requirements; maintaining SCIF security and classified-material accountability; coordinating SCI access actions; and ensuring compliance with applicable Government security policies and procedures. This is an on-site position in Charleston, SC.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Meaningful SCI security experience in the DoD/IC, including work in an accredited SCIF.
  • Working knowledge of SCI personnel, information, and physical security, including DoDM 5105.21, applicable ICD/ICS requirements, and current SCIF accreditation and physical security specifications.
  • Ability to operate independently with Government security personnel.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a CSSO, ACSSO, SSO, Assistant SSO, or equivalent SCI security professional supporting DoD classified programs in an accredited SCIF.
  • Experience processing personnel access actions, VARs, SCI indoctrinations/debriefings, and related security documentation.
  • Experience with classified-material accountability, inventories, receipt and transfer procedures, and secure destruction.
  • Knowledge of SCIF access control, visitor management, physical security, electronic-device controls, and alarm-system programming for SCI-cleared personnel.
  • Experience conducting security self-inspections, supporting Government inspections, managing corrective actions, and reporting incidents, deficiencies, or potential compromises.
  • Experience supporting classified contract transition or closeout and writing security SOPs.
  • Experience using DISS and SIMS.
  • Availability for after-hours security-related calls.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Government security personnel on SCI personnel, information, administrative, industrial, and physical security matters.
  • Process requests to add cleared personnel to the program, coordinate SCI access, and prepare, submit, and track Visit Authorization Requests (VARs).
  • Schedule and coordinate SCI indoctrinations, debriefings, and Transfers-in-Status, and ensure personnel meet clearance, access, and need-to-know requirements.
  • Maintain SCIF access rosters and visitor registers for cleared and uncleared personnel.
  • Maintain classified material receipt, transfer, and accountability records, including documentation for material entering or leaving the SCIF.
  • Conduct required inventories of classified holdings, oversee approved destruction of SCI material, and maintain associated accountability and destruction records.
  • Prepare courier order requests and support compliance with classified-material transportation requirements.
  • Conduct annual security self-inspections, periodic interior/exterior SCIF inspections, alarm-response testing, and required entry/exit inspections.
  • Control introduction of electronic devices and other equipment into the SCIF and coordinate proposed structural or physical changes with Government security personnel.
  • Conduct or coordinate defensive security briefings and awareness activities, and forward required foreign travel and foreign contact reports to the Government SSO.
  • Review public-release materials, speeches, DD Form 254s, corporate publicity, and similar information; maintain the Program Security Classification Guide; and support proper classification and handling.
  • Report suspected or actual loss, compromise, unauthorized disclosure, espionage, sabotage, subversive activity, or other reportable security incidents.
  • Notify the Government of CSSO personnel changes, support continuity of security operations, and respond to after-hours security-related calls.
  • Support contract closeout, including 100-percent inventory, authorized retention, return, transfer, or destruction of classified holdings, personnel debriefings or Transfers-in-Status, and final accountability.
