Contract Recruiter (Entry level - SF)

Valon TechSan Francisco, CA
$30 - $60

About The Position

Valon is seeking a Contract Recruiter to focus on sourcing and university recruiting efforts for their technical teams. This early-career role provides training and is crucial for building high-quality candidate pipelines. The recruiter will support university recruiting programs, coordinate candidate processes efficiently, and ensure all interactions reflect Valon's standards. This position requires operational excellence, strong organization, and a focus on quality and precision in recruiting. The role involves partnering with recruiters, hiring managers, and cross-functional teams to identify and engage top talent through various channels, including sourcing campaigns, career fairs, university events, and candidate coordination. This role is not suitable for individuals who view sourcing as a volume game, are comfortable with candidates waiting, struggle with managing multiple tasks, require fully established processes, see university recruiting as merely event attendance, lack attention to detail, or are uncomfortable using data and AI to improve recruiting efficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable operating in an evolving environment.

  • Comfort working with recruiters, hiring managers, candidates, university partners, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • A high-agency mindset: you notice what needs to be done, take ownership, and follow through without needing every step defined
  • Familiarity with recruiting tools, applicant tracking systems, sourcing platforms, spreadsheets, and AI tools
  • Strong candidate-first instincts and a belief that speed, clarity, and care matter at every stage of the process
  • Curiosity, resilience, and comfort operating in ambiguity as we continue to build and improve our recruiting processes
