About The Position

The Contract Recruiter will support Vertech's recruiting goals by partnering with leaders and Human Resources to identify, attract, and engage qualified candidates. This role will focus primarily on highly technical engineering positions, with periodic support for Project Management, administration, management, and manufacturing roles. The Contract Recruiter will help deliver a thoughtful, organized candidate experience while maintaining accurate recruiting records and supporting continuous improvement of the talent acquisition process. This is an initial contract opportunity expected to support Vertech's recruiting needs over the next 6 to 12 months. Based on business needs, performance, and mutual interest, the role may be considered for conversion to a full-time position within the first 12 months. Conversion is not guaranteed.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in any field, or equivalent relevant experience.
At least 2 years of recruiting experience; experience supporting technical or engineering roles is preferred.
Experience with full-cycle recruiting or substantial experience supporting multiple stages of the recruiting process.
Previous experience using an applicant tracking system, preferably Recruiting by Paycor or a similar platform.
Strong computer skills and proficiency with common recruiting and productivity tools.
Entrepreneurial mindset, ownership of the candidate journey, and willingness to improve processes.
Self-starter who can work independently while keeping stakeholders informed.
Friendly, approachable, and professional communication style in person, by phone, and in writing.
Proactive approach to sourcing, process improvement, and creative recruiting solutions.
Ability to manage up, set expectations, and raise issues early.
Ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management.

Responsibilities

Partner with management and Human Resources to clarify hiring needs, create requisitions, and post approved openings.
Review applicants in the applicant tracking system and respond to candidates in a timely, professional manner.
Maintain the staffing plan and provide clear updates on requisition status, candidate activity, and hiring risks.
Support college and community recruiting activities, including career fair registration, preparation, swag coordination, and attendance as needed.
Conduct phone screens to assess basic qualifications, role alignment, communication, and fit with Vertech's culture.
Coordinate phone and in-person interviews, prepare interview agendas, and help maintain relevant interview questions.
Build and manage candidate pipelines for assigned openings, using proactive sourcing and outreach when appropriate.
Use the applicant tracking system, including Recruiting by Paycor, to create candidate profiles, record interview notes, update candidate status, and move candidates through the process in compliance with legal and company standards.
Manage job postings in the ATS and on external job boards such as Indeed and LinkedIn.
Partner with HR and company leadership to improve the talent acquisition process and document recommendations, decisions, and repeatable practices.
Track and communicate recruiting metrics such as time to fill, cost per hire, pipeline activity, and progress against staffing needs.
Assist with the transition from accepted offer through the first day, including a complete and timely handoff to the onboarding process.
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, generally for university career fairs or other recruiting events.
