About The Position

Seeking a Psychiatrist, or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide services for students enrolled in the Day Treatment Program, a therapeutic partnership with OCM BOCES and TST BOCES. Students in the Day Treatment program receive comprehensive mental health services that are integrated into their academic program. Join our integrated team of providers including social workers, psychologists, a child psychiatrist, a psychiatric nurse practitioner and a medication coordinator. Our high level of staffing allows us to provide an intensive level of assessment, mental health support and skill building. We serve ages 5 – 21, from eight component school districts. We are seeking a contracted provider for approximately 8 appointments a week, with flexible scheduling. Compensation is commensurate with experience and credentialing.

Requirements

  • NYS license as a psychiatrist
  • Experience in the diagnosis and treatment of children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral problems
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Ability to function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team

Responsibilities

  • Develop working diagnoses for each assigned child so that treatment interventions can be designed that enhance the child’s social, emotional and behavioral functioning and reflect The Centers’ values as defined in the Mission, Vision, Guiding Principles and Code of Conduct
  • Provide psychiatric assessments and treatment recommendations
  • Understand and utilize the perspectives and techniques of other team members
  • Keep families fully informed of issues affecting their children and the program
  • Complete all written assessments as per OMH and program guidelines
