About The Position

West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is seeking a Contract Prospect Researcher to support fundraising efforts for the United States Military Academy (USMA). The role is 25 hours per week for a 12-month period and reports directly to the Prospect Analyst in Development Analytics and Prospect Strategy. The researcher will work remotely on wealth-rating validation and research into potential major- and leadership-gift prospects. They will use internet research and tools such as Evertrue and iWave to find financial and biographical information and estimate giving capacity according to formulas and training provided by WPAOG. Compensation is approximately $30–$32 per hour, based on skills and experience. Applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, and letters of reference by December 1, 2026.

Requirements

• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work with databases.
• Ability to conduct basic internet research.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Research prospect lists provided by the Development Analytics and Prospect Strategy team.
• Validate wealth-screening ratings and determine whether they should be adjusted.
• Update capacity estimates and related notes in Blackbaud CRM.
• Write prospect biographies and profiles as requested.
• Find financial and biographical information and estimate giving capacity using the team's formulas and training.
