About The Position

This role requires traveling to and fro’, working cross-functionally, and having a hands-on approach to taking our growing team from scrappy to snappy. We are looking for someone to assist our operations and contracted manufacturing teams in our quest to expand our resources and increase our efficiency. The ideal candidate is a results-driven person, highly organized and motivated, and a proven negotiator ready to take on CPG supply chain process negotiations from end-to-end. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a knack for problem-solving. A well-organized and thought-out spreadsheet is cathartic to you, and you love being accounting-able to a budget.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets is required
  • 2-3 years in food related manufacturing within operations, quality assurance, and/or supply chain management functions is strongly preferred
  • Experience with continuous improvement within plant facilities is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain contract manufacturing relationships by acting as the primary point of contact for manufacturers on both day to day production operations and high level initiatives.
  • Lead contract manufacturing sourcing strategy including RFP/RFQ development, supplier risk assessments, price negotiations, and awarding of business.
  • Perform monthly capacity analysis by category to ensure current and future demand can be met.
  • Prospect redundant and overflow capacity and provide recommendations to plan for unexpected sales growth or an unforeseen constraint to supply.
  • Lead cross functional production meetings with manufacturing partners on a regular cadence to ensure alignment and ‘on track’ execution.
  • Partner with Culinary & Innovation and Commercialization teams to support the manufacturing (ideation, manufacturing capability sourcing, and execution) of new products.
  • Partner with manufacturers and the internal QA department to analyze manufacturability of new products as well as recommend changes that will facilitate efficient manufacturing and lower costs.
  • Create and own Bill of Materials, fully understand manufacturing COGS, and lead the quarterly pricing reconciliation process.
  • Ensure at a high level that the cross functional team is fulfilling its obligations to the manufacturing partners, and appropriately advocate for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage and lead Quarterly Contract Manufacturer scorecard review processes for contract manufacturing partners.
  • Work with the Director of Contract Manufacturing on the overall manufacturing strategy for each category, including analyzing data and making recommendations to the business.
  • Travel around 25% of the time.
