About The Position

The Office of the General Counsel at BDO Canada LLP is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Contract Manager to support our Commercial Contracting practice. This is a net new role and is ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality administrative and legal support.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience providing contract management support (legal training is an asset but not required)
  • Strong understanding of commercial contract terms and risk considerations.
  • Contract management experience in complex information technology (IT) consulting, IT outsourcing, and IT professional services projects will be a vital asset
  • Demonstrated experience managing contract workflows and improving processes
  • You demonstrate teamwork, professionalism, integrity, and a high degree of attention to detail
  • You have strong critical thinking skills and a high level of initiative, with an ability to proactively solve problems and propose solutions
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • The ability to communicate, draft and negotiate agreements at an advanced level in French is an asset, but not required
  • experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze a broad range of commercial contracts (including engagement letters, MSAs, NDAs, RFPs), identify key risks and advise on practical mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between contractual obligations and operational practices
  • Serve as a key point of contact for contract-related inquiries, providing clear, practical guidance to internal clients
  • Support and, where appropriate, lead contract negotiations in accordance with established guidelines and risk tolerances
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve contract management processes, including intake, tracking, and lifecycle management
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and optimization of contract templates, playbooks, and internal guidance materials
  • Support reporting and metrics related to contracting activity, turnaround times, and risk trends
