About The Position

As a Contract Logistics Specialist at Kuehne+Nagel, you will manage end-to-end warehousing operations for our customers. By doing so with precision, you not only contribute to the success of your team, but also to the day-to-day operations and success in the warehouse and distribution centres. For example, storing and delivering delicate flowers and fresh ingredients to local stores for everyday lunches and family celebrations. Under the direction of the Operations Manager, and/or the Operations Supervisor, the Shipping and Receiving clerk is responsible for the proper function of logistics activities under their direction in a manner consistent with company service, quality, and cost objectives.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to establish priorities and multi-task
  • Experience with personal computers and materials handling equipment.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous tasks.
  • Good interpersonal and verbal / written communication skills.
  • Proven basic math skills at the high school level
  • Computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer previous experience in a warehouse environment, one (1) year
  • Prefer previous experience in WMS

Responsibilities

  • Verify and receive materials into inventory
  • Marks and inventories packages for storage or transit
  • May also include palletizing and shrink-wrap.
  • Works from pick sheet to pull product or supplies.
  • Check orders against pull sheets.
  • Prepare items for shipping, including boxing items, creating shipping labels, and maintaining detailed records of outgoing shipments.
  • Process returned goods, document damages and discrepancies, and return merchandise to stock
  • Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.
  • Assist in resolution of shipping issues and customer complaints.
  • Assist in maintaining the required levels of security
  • Assist in cycle count inventories.
  • Maintain compliance to ISO 9001, AS 9100/9120 Quality Management Systems as applicable and to KN's QSHE Management System.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Overtime and Weekends as needed
  • Ability to support business needs of the applicable team, as they apply to attendance, overtime, punctuality, and shift.
