Primary resource for Shipping and Receiving for hotel staff. Performs a variety of shipping and receiving tasks, including reconciliation of deliveries to orders and route incoming items to appropriate departments/locations. Place culinary orders with purveyors as directed by company policy. Respond to supplier and employee inquiries about status, substitutions, or cancellations. Maintain Dry Storage room, putting dry goods away when they arrive and keeping a sanitary and organized room. Deliver perishables (food) to kitchen in a timely manner. Maintain an organized Dock area. Clean/clear the dock at end of day. Prepare items for shipment and utilizing cost effective services and ensuring shipment gets where it is supposed to go when needed. Follows up as needed with internal and external customers. Confirm delivery receipt of delivery in Birchstreet ordering system or as needed. Collaborate with Purchasing Manager regarding opportunities to benefit Umstead especially in sourcing, product quality, and efficiency.
