About The Position

The NRC is seeking to fill two (2) Contract Coordinator positions and establish a pool of qualified candidates for future opportunities to support the Client Agreements and Intellectual Property Branch. The Contract Coordinator will be responsible for the development of standard templated business agreements for the NRC’s Research Centers. This role involves managing associated workflows, including information gathering, communication, drafting, reviews, and contract-related record-keeping within the NRC’s Client Relationship Management (CRM) system, adhering to NRC and Government of Canada policies. Contract Coordinators will collaborate with Contract Officers and Strategic Contract Advisors on modifications to contract templates or client agreements based on project-specific needs. The position contributes to the NRC’s success by ensuring accurate, timely, and professional preparation of revenue-generating agreements and by fostering excellent relationships with internal and external clients and colleagues. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic team player with initiative, strong customer service skills, experience in agreement development, understanding of contractual terms, ability to synthesize information, work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, and possess excellent organization, prioritization, and interpersonal skills. This role focuses on contracting for client agreements ('contracting-in') and not procurement contracting.

Requirements

  • College diploma in business administration, or paralegal certification from an accredited program.
  • An acceptable combination of successful completion of Secondary School according to provincial standards plus relevant experience in business contracting may be considered.
  • Minimum 2 (two) years’ experience in the development, drafting and management of contractual agreements.
  • Experience working with internal and external clients.
  • Experience using computers in an office environment which includes using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bilingual Imperative CBC/CBC.
  • Reliability Status (verification of background information over a period of 5 years is required).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using SharePoint online and Client Relationship Management software would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Development of standard templated business agreements in support of the NRC’s Research Centers.
  • Manage associated workflows including information gathering, communication, drafting, reviews and contracts-related record-keeping within the NRC’s official Client Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Ensure adherence to the policies and processes of the NRC and the Government of Canada.
  • Work with Contract Officers and Strategic Contract Advisors on changes to the terms of NRC’s contract templates or client agreements.
  • Ensure revenue-generating agreements are prepared accurately, and in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with internal and external clients as well as with their colleagues.
