This role involves providing fair, respectful, and culturally relevant services to First Nations children and families, adhering to the Agency’s By-Laws, Policies, Procedures, and the Ontario Child Protection Standards. The position requires developing links with communities to explore service options, providing ongoing child protection services to assigned caseloads (both voluntary and non-voluntary clients), and investigating and assessing allegations of child abuse and/or maltreatment. The worker will intervene in crisis situations, assess risks to children, determine necessary actions including potential alternative placements, and advocate for support services within the community. Additionally, the role includes coordinating and facilitating customary care and society placements, preparing required documents, and acting as a witness in court matters.
