The 1099-Contract Investigator is responsible for conducting federal background investigations on a contract basis in direct support of national security and suitability investigations. This role involves conducting fieldwork, including interviews and retrieval of records, to produce reports of investigations (ROIs) in compliance with all laws, federal standards, and federal agency regulations. The investigator will accept fieldwork assignments for travel throughout their geographic area of responsibility, with opportunities for temporary duty assignments outside of their assigned area. Meeting investigative deadlines, demonstrating strong communication skills, and maintaining a professional demeanor in a time-sensitive environment are crucial. The role also requires monitoring, maintaining, conveying, and appropriately destroying data and documents, while meeting government and industry standards for quality, integrity, timeliness, and productivity. Maintaining compliance with all mandatory training, security, and credential requirements, and developing professional working relationships with ADC employees and contractors are also key responsibilities. The investigator will report trends and updates observed in the field and perform other related duties as required. ADC independent contract investigators are compensated for the number of assigned cases completed, not an annual salary.
