About The Position

This role involves preparing, analyzing, routing, and administering company legal documents related to third-party service contracts across the organization, including technology, operations, consulting, and other commercial contracts. The Contract Analyst I will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, attorneys, procurement personnel, and other internal stakeholders to ensure contracts are processed in compliance with company policies and procedures. Key activities include analyzing, preparing, reviewing, routing, maintaining, and processing contracts and related legal documents. The role requires researching and understanding legal documents to ensure compliance with company standards, tariffs, policies, and procedures, including insurance, credit, cybersecurity, and data privacy requirements. Findings will be reviewed with leadership, and contract terms and provisions may be negotiated as needed. Non-standard issues will be escalated to senior analysts or attorneys. The position utilizes contract administration software, maintains computer databases and imaging systems for agreements, and recommends system improvements. The analyst will provide information and guidance to internal customers and stakeholders regarding contract requirements and processes, compile ad hoc reports, and prepare necessary approvals, waivers, vendor information, and other legal documents. Regular and reliable attendance is required, and employees may be assigned additional duties.

Requirements

  • Experience and knowledge of working with contracts involving information technology, pipeline operations, leases, consulting and other commercial contracts.
  • Working knowledge of basic contract concepts.
  • Experience with application of basic math and algebraic formulas used in various spreadsheet applications.
  • Experience in use and function of tools and equipment applicable to position including computers, contract management database, imaging systems, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
  • Knowledge and training relative to: Legal terminology, Contract law and/or contract preparation, Business communications, Records maintenance, Data management systems, Insurance coverages and Certificates of Insurance, DOT and OQ requirements, Interpersonal communications.
  • Experience reading and understanding documents, contracts, leases, forms, manuals, publications, and correspondence.
  • Experience conducting internal and/or external research and preparing contracts, records, reports, and correspondence.
  • Experience interacting, negotiating, and communicating effectively.
  • Read and write fluently in English.
  • Minimum Applicable driver's license.
  • Mobility to travel in and around office surroundings and to other business locations.
  • Communicate and/or exchange information or instructions.
  • Visual abilities sufficient to perform job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Escalate non-standard issues to senior analysts or attorneys as appropriate.
  • Utilize contract administration software in daily work, maintain computer database and imaging systems for agreements, and related documentation.
  • Utilize independent decision making to recommend system improvements as needed.
  • Provide information, guidance, and assistance to internal customers, attorneys, procurement personnel and other stakeholders regarding contract requirements and processes.
  • Compile ad hoc reports and provide to management, attorneys, and other internal stakeholders as requested.
  • Prepare and obtain all approvals, waivers, vendor information including certificates of insurance and prequalification documents, and other legal documents.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
  • Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
