About The Position

The continuous improvement supervisor will be responsible for implementing structured problem-solving methodologies geared towards maximizing business performance, returning savings to the bottom line, and building organizational capability. They will assist the CI team build and demonstrate expertise in Lean/Toyota Production System (TPS) and Six Sigma.

Requirements

  • Good communication skills.

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Ability to effectively present information.
  • Bilingual, Spanish-English.
  • Minimum requirement of a college degree preferred (engineering preferred, chemical engineering, or industrial engineering strongly preferred).
  • Lean Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification preferred.
  • Practical application proficiency with mathematical statistics preferred.
  • Successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual, able to achieve high impact in an unstructured environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with time management and the ability to be self-directed.
  • Demonstrated passion for solving problems and driving operational excellence.
  • Bachelor's degree in a safety-related field and minimum five (5) years of experience in occupational safety, Industrial hygiene, environmental health, or related fields.
  • Ability to perform financial calculations and create and manage budgets
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee regularly is required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit.

Responsibilities

  • Develop skills to train other people (Train the Trainer)
  • Train employees in the use of Lean Manufacturing Tools
  • Work with Supervisors, Leads, and Managers to identify improvement opportunities
  • Schedule and manage Kaizen events/improvement projects
  • Lead Kaizen events applying the Lean Manufacturing Tools
  • Prepare reports on the training and Kaizen events and present them to the senior management.
  • Provide event follow-up to monitor the progress of planned improvement implementation to assure timely action, appropriate management support, and achievement of expected benefits.
  • Use appropriate measurement, analysis and evaluation methods to accurately identify and document process improvements.
  • Support improvements based on Business Intelligence environment
  • Keeps supervisor informed of all activities
  • Work closely with production, maintenance, farming, harvesting, and other support functions in developing and implementing solutions designed to reduce waste
  • Learn the Lean Manufacturing tools and processes: 8 Wastes, Flow, Pull/Kanban, Takt Time/Standard Work, Error Proofing, Structured Problem Solving (PDCA), Set-up Reduction, Value Stream Mapping, TPM, Business Intelligence
