About The Position

The Continuous Improvement Specialist leads and supports improvement initiatives and special projects that improve manufacturing performance, efficiency, quality, safety, and process consistency. This role partners cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and IT to identify improvement opportunities, develop and implement solutions, support automation and technology integration, improve manufacturing processes, and train employees on new or updated processes and systems.

Requirements

  • Experience in manufacturing, continuous improvement, production support, process improvement, automation, manufacturing technology, or a related field required.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying operational or process improvement opportunities and implementing solutions.
  • Ability to develop, document, implement, and improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes and develop practical solutions.
  • Ability to manage improvement projects from identification through implementation and follow-up.
  • Ability to train employees and communicate technical or process information in a clear, practical, and understandable way.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and cross functional projects.
  • Ability to work effectively with production employees, technical teams, and leadership.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, production equipment, automation, robotics, or technology-based process improvement preferred.
  • Experience leading or supporting continuous improvement projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing, root cause analysis, process mapping, standard work, waste reduction, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with automation integration, robot utilization, processing line programming, equipment setup, or manufacturing technology implementation.
  • Prior experience in aerospace, automotive, machining, processing, fabrication, or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Technology, Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or above strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives and special projects focused on improving safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, process consistency, and manufacturing performance.
  • Evaluate current manufacturing processes, identify improvement opportunities, and develop and implement practical solutions in partnership with Operations and other functional teams.
  • Develop, implement, document, and improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, standard operating procedures, and training materials.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of manufacturing technology, automation, and robotics as tools to improve operational performance.
  • Assist with programming, setup, troubleshooting, and training related to processing line technology and automated systems.
  • Support technology utilization by evaluating current use, identifying opportunities for improvement, assisting with programming needs, and training employees on proper operation.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and IT to identify process gaps, resolve operational challenges, and implement sustainable improvements.
  • Lead or support special projects related to process improvement, automation, equipment utilization, production flow, technology implementation, and operational efficiency.
  • Support implementation of new technology and process changes, including testing, rollout, employee training, documentation, and post-implementation evaluation.
  • Provide hands-on support to production teams during process changes, equipment updates, automation projects, and improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of implemented improvements and recommend additional changes when needed.
  • Track project progress, communicate updates and results to stakeholders, and help ensure assigned initiatives are completed effectively and sustained over time.
